Aston and Weston Branch

Our branch was formed in 1953, and like other branches, it is a democratic, non-Party political and non-sectarian organisation.

It exists to promote the welfare of those who are serving or have served in the Armed Forces of the Crown and their dependants.

Legion Benevolence extends to all members of the Serving and Ex-Service community, not just those who belong to the Legion.

MOTTO    " Service Before Self"

You do not have to have served in the Forces to join the Legion. If you are eighteen or over and are interested in joining our Branch, then come along on the second Monday of the month to the White Hart Club Room at 7:30 pm where you will be most welcome.

The British Legion was formed on 1st July 1921 by the amalgamation of four separate Ex-service Organisations set up following World War I.

The Royal Charter was granted in 1925, and on the 50th Anniversary in 1971 the British Legion became the Royal British Legion.

Information

Since the 1939-45 War there have been many conflicts including Kenya, Korea, Egypt, Falklands, The Gulf, Bosnia, Kosovo, Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone and many others, in fact since the Second World War only one year (1968) went by without the loss of a British Service Person.

They served us, we must serve them.
