We started our new "Sunday School" in January 2000 and we have been really pleased to welcome lots of new friends to our meetings on Sunday mornings. There is always room for more and if you would like to join us we would love to see you.
We meet in the New Vestry in the Churchyard on the second and fourth Sunday of the month. We start at 10.30 am and finish at noon.
All primary children aged 4 to 11 years are very welcome to join us. There are also some teenagers who enjoy helping the little ones when needed.
The sessions include time for games, singing and learning about Jesus. At about 11.30 am we go into Church to join the rest of the congregation, to tell them what we have been doing and join in with the end of the Holy Communion service. Sometimes there is a Baptism or other special service to take part in.
Children can be collected at the end of the service, usually 12.00 pm, or if preferred at 11.30 am, before we go into Church.
If you would like to know more, please contact any of the following for more information. Denise or Mike Crocker on 792801, Gail Hudson on 792730, Sue or Pete Stevenson on 792741. There are about eight of us who help, but we won’t all be there every week as we take it in turns.
At Christmas 2000 we led the Crib Service on Christmas Eve afternoon. We were very pleased to see around 200 people come to watch and join in with our Nativity play and carol singing. It was great fun putting it all together, the children especially enjoyed dressing up as the animals in the stable. There were bats, mice, chickens and spiders to name just a few, quite apart from the usual nativity cast.
We hope that you will want to come and join us. Why not come along one week just to see what we do?
